************* One Year Anniversary Update September 2026******************
A year has brought us so much healing, so much relief, so much understanding.
Now my daughter has taken up boxing, after I heard her say she wished she could punch something until she didn't want to cry anymore.
Now her goal is going to meet his mother in December, in St Louis, for his birthday, which is on the Solstice.
Now she tells me she chooses LIFE, and wants to LIVE, and to THRIVE.
**************************** UPDATES*********************************
She is doing much better now, it's been close to 5 months since we lost Jake.
She has a strong support system in place to help with the trauma, and we pick and read books together to discuss her grief.
There was a time I thought I would lose her to this grief; but now it's different. She said to me that she sees a future, she just doesn't know what to put in it.
Our goal is to get to the official memorial, which Jake's mother is planning for Spring 2026.I'm seeking assistance for airfare, hotel, and car rental-some or all of that being covered would be life-changing, as I am starting to struggle to cover day-today expenses for larger things. She has her heart set on going, and meeting his mother would mean the world to them both.
She remains especially grateful for prayers.
Thank you so much

My daughter became grief-stricken four days ago, when her fiance collapsed and died in her arms, from an unexpected, tragic, medically violent event. And she was all alone at home when it happened.
I'm fundraising for her to be able to travel to his funeral 2000 miles away, to be with his mother who is so gracious to her during this painful time, and for her to have housing when she returns, as she will not be able to live in their home because of what happened, and her own emotional fragilities at this time.
All prayers are welcome; she believes fervently in the power of prayer.
She is being stronger than I ever could conceive possible, and she is aching. She has guilt for not saving him--she did CPR, paramedics were there within minutes, but she cannot stop feeling guilty, which is something I know many of us experience when we're lost in the loss of a loved one.
She has guilt for just being alive right now. She feels she is to blame. My heart breaks.
I hope to raise these funds to ease her path for the foreseeable future, and also be able to get her books on grief, special counseling, and maybe a retreat with others who have experienced a tragic, traumatic loss in a similar way.
I am operating in the dark with this fundraiser, as I know nothing about them, or how to write this.
I put her, and myself, in the hands of the loving community.
