Helping my 2 adopted daughters heal after loss

As a single mom who recently adopted my two daughters that were in foster care for over 2 years. I am raising funds for these precious girls (ages 8 & 11). They have experienced an unimaginable loss - losing both of their parents in the last 3 years (their bio mom just this past fall). Their world has been forever changed.

Along with the heartbreak of losing their Mom and Dad, nearly all of their childhood belongings and meaningful keepsakes were lost. Things that once brought them comfort, familiarity, and joy such as photos, special stuffies and reminders of mom & dad are now gone. For these sweet girls who have already endured so much being in foster care for just over 2 years before being adopted by me. This loss continues to be difficult.

My hope is to raise money to help recreate pieces of their childhood. Items that help them feel safe, secure and loved as they continue to heal. In addition, I want to create a memorial to honor both parents, so these girls will always have a special place to remember, reflect and feel connected to them.

Funds are planned to be used to:

• Recreate meaningful childhood items and comforts
• Purchase memory keepsakes and personalized items
• Create a lasting memorial for both parents (possibly a bench in a local park)
• Updating their rooms in order to make it feel safe
