About the Vafakos Family:

Before they were even dating, the first thing Tyler and Chloe connected on was a mutual call to missions. They became fast friends, fell in love, and the rest is history. Now they are living their dream together with their four children in Baguio, Philippines, reaching the community through evangelism, children's Bible clubs, and outreaches to meet the physical and spiritual needs of those around them in every way they can.

Tyler recently graduated with his Master's Degree (MA), an achievement won through long hours of work over the past three years. This degree opens many possibilities for him to progress in his calling. He has a passion and God-given gift for teaching on every level from homeschooling his own small children to teaching on the seminary campus. All of his students remember him fondly for his depth of thought, clear teaching techniques, and the genuine love they felt in his classroom.

Chloe has been working tirelessly to reach the children of their neighborhood through a near daily Bible Club on the local basketball court. We have been able to supply many of the older children with Bibles in their own language, which they have learned to use with great enthusiasm. These children come from all backgrounds from Pentecostal pastors' kids, to Muslim children, to children whose parents belong to the local cults. Many of the kids have little to no true church background, but they are eager to learn about the One True God. Even one twelve-year-old girl who was with us all summer took the initiative and answered the call of God to be a missionary to her new neighborhood when she moved to Manila. We gave her a folder full of crafts and lessons when she left, and we recently heard that she has indeed started her own Bible club with the small children who live near her!

Beyond these ministries, the Vafakos family has been able to aid the local churches by supplying over 4,000 Bibles in the local languages. Some of these Bible translations are not easy to come by! We've spoken to people who have only ever heard about the existence of the Bible in their own native language or maybe seen one copy. With so many languages in the Philippines, it isn't a surprise, but it is a tragedy! We are doing everything we can to end the famine of God's Word in the Philippines.

In the past year, we have been able to hire two helpers to meet the needs of the growing ministry (and our growing family!) In 2026, Chloe will be slowing down with the arrival of our fourth baby, Evangeleon, but by God's grace the ministry will only continue to grow as we empower Christian leaders in the community to evangelize and disciple their own people.

Our long-term vision is to plant missionary training schools throughout Asia, teaching sound doctrine as well as practical skills for brave soldiers of the cross who are willing to reach the hardest-to-reach people of the earth. We have seen a need for practical missions training, all the things that aren't taught in traditional Bible colleges. The missionaries that emerge from this program will be ready to survive in any environment, know the Word of God cover-to-cover, and be able to preach the Gospel with clarity and power.

We are still learning and growing, gaining experience and preparing for all that the Lord has placed on our hearts, but in the meantime, we are doing everything we can to bring the life-giving Gospel to the region where God has placed us, Asia.
