In the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, Amen. The Hermitage of the Conversion of the Apostle Paul is a Hermitage under the Autonomous Orthodox Metropolia of North and South America and the British Isles. We are part of what is called the True Orthodox Church, which has maintained the identity of the Orthodox Church from its very creation on the Day of Pentecost. Our Metropolia is missions minded and so we seek to reach out to our part of the world in whatever way possible. There is little doubt that Orthodoxy is reviving throughout the world, and especially in the West. One of the greatest means of that revival has been through the Internet. The Internet is now affording us the ability to make many contacts and so interest is growing in the establishing of missions. To establish a mission there is needed literature, church furniture and liturgical attire. Travel expenses will also be needed for the clergy and any of their fellow workers. In some countries there may also be the possibility of buying property at a reasonable price or providing assistance to properties that have been bought and are in need of repair. Those in the Orthodox Church know of the blessedness of their faith and the seriousness of their enterprise. Our Lord has commissioned us to go into all the world and preach the Gospel. This we intend to do and with your help we can see that the Lord be Magnified in all His works.
At the moment these are a few of our needs:
+ One of the priests in the Metropolia will be undergoing open-heart surgery in just a few days. He will be out of commission for three months or more. Support needed at this time is conservatively estimated at $1000-1700 per month for the next three months.
+ Air fare for one catechumen who desires baptism, along with lodging. Estimate of $750.00
+ Liturgical attire and altar furnishings. Estimate of $2000.00.
+ We do foresee many more projects for the future.
For your information: My clerical name is Father Boniface Armes. My legal name is Paul Armes. Any giving will be seen and done under my legal name, Paul Armes.
God Bless you and thank you for your help!
Father Boniface+
