This fundraiser is for Daniel Rodriguez and family. Imelda and Daniel met when they were 15 and have been together for 36 years. Moving to the US almost 25 years ago, together they built a beautiful life, raising two children, Cynthia and Daniel, and welcoming 4 energetic and affectionate grandchildren into their family. "Sometimes life's not fair...51 is way too young to take my wife and the mother of my children."
On 9/18/26, Imelda went to the hospital feeling very ill. After several days of testing, doctors found a malignant lump on her lung, and the family soon learned it was stage 4 cancer that had spread to her brain and kidneys. Everything happened so quickly they barely had time to say goodbye. Even through this devastating news, Imelda remained positive and made it through radiation, hoping chemotherapy would help. Before treatment could begin, she passed away in the hospital with her family by her side. Our family’s world was turned upside down in a matter of days.
Now Daniel and the family are facing deep grief while also trying to navigate the sudden financial burden left behind. The funds raised will help cover burial expenses, give the family time to grieve together, and help bridge the loss of income as Daniel works to continue their cleaning business and the family finds their footing again. They are a proud family who have never asked for handouts, but they want to put Imelda to rest in the way she deserves. If you are able to donate, any amount will mean so much.
