I am Skyleth Ansino, a missionary doctor serving in Cambodia. I am from Iloilo, Philippines, and have been a cross-cultural missionary for over 2 years. God first stirred my heart for healthcare missions in medical school, where I led a Christian movement for medical students at Central Philippine University focused on discipleship and evangelism. After receiving my medical license, I joined short-term medical and surgical missions in the Philippines. This led me to a medical missions conference in Singapore in 2023, where God called me to serve unreached people in Cambodia. Since then, I have served in mission hospitals in the Philippines and, for the past 2 years, in Cambodia, where God has allowed me to serve in evangelism and discipleship of young people, the Christian movement of medical students and healthcare professionals, as a Saline Process Witness Trainer, as a training track facilitator for the online courses of the International Christian Medical and Dental Association, and in surgical missions with Medical Ministry International.
Young Leaders Gathering 4 begins a 10-year journey of intentional discipleship, leadership development, and collaborative mission with young leaders worldwide. It aims to identify and invest in leaders who will influence the church and mission globally in the coming decades. It connects younger leaders from diverse backgrounds and regions, equips them for leadership in global mission, and inspires collaboration for kingdom impact.
"This commitment excites me because it offers support, learning, and opportunities to grow with peers who share a passion for God's work. Through YLG 4, I hope to gain practical leadership skills such as team building, vision casting, and strategic planning for ministry. I also want to deepen my understanding of cross-cultural ministry, explore new disciple-making models, and learn effective ways to integrate faith and healthcare. Connecting with global mentors and ministry partners through YLG 4 will help me bring fresh ideas and resources back to my community. I am eager to deepen my calling, develop new skills, and build long-term partnerships that will strengthen my ministry and contribute to the global Church's wider mission. Over the next 10 years, I will stay engaged with YLG 4 through regular follow-up sessions, online community groups, and ongoing training opportunities. I plan to remain connected with the network of young leaders and mentors, sharing updates, successes, and challenges from my ministry in Cambodia. These relationships and continuous learning will help ensure that I apply the lessons from YLG 4 throughout this decade-long journey, maximizing the long-term impact on my ministry and those I serve."
With the new skills, fresh perspectives, and resources I gain from YLG 4, I plan to share leadership development tools and discipleship strategies with local leaders and young professionals. I will also facilitate workshops and mentoring sessions for medical students and healthcare workers, using insights and practical approaches from YLG 4 to encourage spiritual growth and inspire outreach. Additionally, I hope to strengthen mission partnerships by connecting our community with global networks through YLG 4. This will help our community serve our neighbors more effectively.
