On the tragic day when we learned that we would never hear our baby Penelope’s first cry, we were desperate for any comforts while we felt so broken. One of the comforts we were blessed to have was made possible by a Cuddle Cot. A bassinet with a little blue box that kept our baby cool and allowed us more time, precious time which we previously wouldn’t have thought possible under the circumstances. Thanks to the Cuddle Cot we were able to say our goodbyes on our own time without feeling rushed. We were able to feel a healing in the opportunity to see others show their love for our baby in a moment when we needed it most. And when Grace was faced with medical complications, it bought us even more time so that she was able to recover enough strength to pray over her with me as one more goodbye before the funeral home came to pick her up from the hospital. This small device was a blessing of comfort to us and our family in a time when we needed comfort most. We would like to honor Penelope by working to raise funds so that we can provide this comfort to other families when they face their hardest days. Once the goal is met, we will purchase a Cuddle Cot which will have a plaque honoring Penelope’s memory and this machine will be donated to a local hospital which does not yet have one.
