What if the thing carrying your family down the road was also helping carry a mission that changes lives? We are the Neyland Family, also known as the Salty Light Family, and for the past five years, our family of eight has lived life a little differently. Five years ago, we sold our home and small farm and moved into a camper. That camper has been where our kids have grown up, where we've homeschooled, shared meals, prayed, laughed, cried, and made countless memories. It has carried us thousands of miles across the country as we've followed where God has called us to serve. Through it, we've helped build safe places for women and children rescued from human trafficking and sexual exploitation. We've seen firsthand why these homes matter. One survivor said that having a room with a locking door was the first time in years she could lay her head down without fear. Another told us, “This home that you all are building isn't just a safe house. It's a place that God has ordained to be a dwelling place for His redemption.” Our camper has never just been a camper. It has been part of the mission.
But this past year, our home on wheels reached the end of the road. The frame of our camper cracked to the point that it was no longer safe to pull down the highway, and the floor was deteriorating and beginning to fall through. We knew we couldn't continue putting our family—or others—at risk. Replacing our camper was a huge financial step, but God provided, and we now have a new camper. We are incredibly grateful for the way He made a way for our family. But having a new home on wheels has also created a significant financial burden. That's why, from October 1 through December 31, we're launching Mission on Wheels. We're inviting our friends, family, ministry partners, and those who have followed our journey to come alongside our family and help carry the financial weight of this next chapter. We're not asking you to fund a camper. We're asking you to help us keep going.
Every gift helps carry the financial burden of our new home and helps keep our family equipped to continue serving wherever God sends us. You may not be the one driving the miles, swinging the hammer, pouring the concrete, or walking onto the jobsite—but when you send us, you go with us. Your gift doesn't just help us get down the road. It helps carry the mission down the road. There are still safe houses to build. There are still people who need to hear that they are not forgotten. There are still lives waiting to discover the freedom and redemption found in Jesus. And there are still miles ahead of us.
