Kitchen for Casa de Misioneros /The Estrada Family

For 21 years, Pastor Olman and Pastora Karen and their sons, Olman Alexis and Rony, have faithfully served the community of San Jerónimo through Fuente de Vida Iglesia.

In January 2024, through the generosity of the NorthRidge Fellowship family, they were able to complete construction of their home after nine years and officially dedicate it as Casa de Misioneros.

The hope was to give The Estradas a true family home and some separation from the home they currently live in, which is essentially an extension of the church and offers very little personal space or time. It would also allow their current home to be used to serve others through the ministry.

More than two years later, however, they still haven't been able to move into their home because they haven't had the funds to finish the kitchen and purchase the remaining appliances. As many of you know, Olman and Karen continually put the needs of the church, the community, and the water project ahead of their own, and their personal resources have gone toward those needs instead.

Karen also spends a great deal of time cooking for others—including our mission teams when we visit—so having a functional kitchen in their home is especially important.

We have already purchased a refrigerator and washer/dryer for them. The only things remaining are the kitchen counters, cabinets, and a stove/oven. During our July trip, I nonchalantly asked them what it would take to finish everything, and they said that Brian will build the counters and cabinets for $4,500. When I looked at stoves while I was there, they were just under $1,000 on sale.

That means about $5,500 is all that stands between them and finally moving into their home.

Once they move, their current home can also be used to house visiting missionaries and to provide a place for pastoral couples to have short-term marriage retreats; this is something that is greatly needed among pastors in Honduras.

I set up this fundraiser so we can get the money to them quickly while keeping fees to a minimum. I budgeted $150 for fees. Olman and Karen have no idea we're doing this, so our hope is to surprise them with the funds to finally finish Casa de Misioneros and move in.

If you feel called to give, thank you. If you're not able to give, your prayers for Olman, Karen, their family, and their ministry are every bit as appreciated. Donations can be made anonymously on this page. If you would like me to share your name and gift with Olman and Karen when I give them the funds, just let me know.

Thank you for the many ways you have loved, supported, and prayed for Olman and Karen over the years. It would be pretty special for this group to help finish what we started together.
