From Lausanne 2024 to YLG4: Continuing a Journey of Calling and Mission
In 2024, I had the privilege of participating in the Lausanne Congress in Incheon, South Korea. That experience was more than attending a global Christian gathering. It challenged me to think more deeply about God's mission, the role of the Church in society, evangelism, and how my own gifts and vocation can contribute to the Great Commission.
Since then, God has been opening doors and shaping that calling in ways I could not have fully anticipated.
At the time of the Lausanne Congress, I was working in the real estate sector as an Executive Assistant to a CEO. God later opened an opportunity for me to serve with African Enterprise, where I have now been involved in executive support and fundraising, while increasingly contributing to strategic communication, donor relations and proposal development for ministry initiatives.
Through this work, my burden for evangelism and the local Church has continued to grow.
A Growing Vision for the Local Church
One area I have become particularly passionate about is church planting and holistic discipleship.
My desire is not simply to see churches planted, but to see healthy, Christ-centred churches that proclaim the Gospel, disciple believers in God's Word, evangelise their communities and respond compassionately to the realities surrounding them.
I believe the local church should be a visible expression of Christ within its community.
Jesus lived among people. He taught them, ate with them, listened to them, served them and revealed the Kingdom of God to them. In the same way, our churches should care about people's spiritual lives while also recognising the social, economic and other challenges affecting the communities in which God has placed them.
This is part of what I am learning to think about as incarnational mission: Christians living out the Gospel among the people God has placed around them.
Over the past year, I have also had opportunities to participate directly in mission here in Kenya—including door-to-door evangelism, sharing the Gospel and serving communities through practical initiatives such as city clean-ups.
These experiences have strengthened a conviction in me: the Gospel must be proclaimed, but it must also be lived.
I am increasingly asking how we can develop ministry programmes that help more people hear the Gospel, equip pastors and Christian leaders for holistic mission, strengthen discipleship within communities, and mobilise the resources necessary to make this possible.
The Next Frontier: Digital Evangelism
Another area God has increasingly placed on my heart is digital evangelism.
We are living at a time when artificial intelligence, social media and digital content are shaping how millions of people understand themselves, the world and even questions of faith.
The question for me is: How can the Church faithfully enter these spaces?
How can we communicate Christ creatively without altering the Gospel? How can we use AI and digital tools ethically while remaining faithful to Scripture and sound doctrine? How can digital platforms become spaces where people encounter the truth of the Gospel and are ultimately connected to Christian community and discipleship?
Jesus told His disciples:
“You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” — Acts 1:8
Today, some of those “ends of the earth” are also digital.
I want to continue learning how the Church can faithfully witness to Christ in these spaces while remaining deeply rooted in Scripture, prayer, Christian community and the work of the Holy Spirit.
Why YLG4 Matters to Me
Participating in YLG4 would therefore not be an isolated conference experience. I see it as another step in a journey that has already been unfolding since Lausanne 2024.
It is an opportunity to learn from other younger Christian leaders, deepen my understanding of global mission, build relationships across cultures and ministries, and bring those lessons back into the work and ministry contexts God has entrusted to me.
I especially hope to grow in the areas of evangelism, holistic mission, leadership, resource mobilisation and digital engagement for the Gospel.
My prayer is that what I learn will not end with me, but will contribute to strengthening churches, pastors, ministries and communities as we seek together to make Christ known.
My Fundraising Goal: $600
I am deeply grateful for the provision God has already made.
My flight ticket has already been provided, and approximately 80% of my participation fee has been covered.
I am now raising $600 toward the remaining expenses, particularly:
- Visa-related costs
- The remaining portion of my participation fee
- Essential travel-related expenses
And there is already encouraging progress:
$170 has been raised.
$430 remains.
One practical way I am approaching this is by trusting God for around 20 people who could each contribute $20, alongside other gifts, to help close the remaining gap.
Whether you can give $20, more, or less, every contribution moves me closer to being able to participate.
More Than Financial Support
I would also deeply value your prayers.
Please pray for:
- God's provision for the remaining financial need
- Successful travel and visa arrangements
- Spiritual preparation for YLG4
- Wisdom as I continue serving in mission, fundraising and Christian leadership
- Greater clarity around my calling in holistic mission and digital evangelism
- Opportunities to translate what I learn into practical impact for the Church in Africa and beyond
My desire is not simply to attend another gathering. It is to be equipped so that I can continue serving more faithfully where God has placed me.
If you would like to partner with me through giving, prayer or even sharing this campaign with someone else, I would be deeply grateful.
20 people × $20 can take me a significant step closer.
Thank you for being part of this journey and for investing not only in my participation at YLG4, but in what God can do through the lessons, relationships and opportunities that come from it.
“You will be my witnesses… to the ends of the earth.” — Acts 1:8
