Honoring Wyatt Gates: Support for His Wife, Madi, and their Daughter
On Monday evening, 24-year-old Wyatt Gates, a volunteer firefighter with the Raft River Fire District, was killed when the fire truck he was driving went off the road on East Yale Road. He and a fellow firefighter, Madi's brother, were airlifted to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello. Wyatt passed on at the hospital. Her brother remains hospitalized with a long road to recovery.
Wyatt and Madi have been married only a couple of years. About a month ago, they welcomed their first child, a baby girl. Instead of the quiet, joyful newborn weeks they had planned together, Madi is now facing the unthinkable: planning a funeral, caring for a newborn on her own, and standing beside her brother as he recovers.
Donations will help cover:
- Funeral and burial expenses
- Medical bills not covered by insurance
- Everyday living costs while Madi grieves and cares for her daughter
No gift is too small. Every donation, and every share, lightens the load for a young mother who should be focused on healing and on her baby. If you can't give, please consider sharing this page so more people can learn about Wyatt and wrap their arms around his family.
Accounts have also been set up at DL Evans bank for direct donations, which eliminates 3rd party fees.
Thank you for standing with Madi and her daughter during this painful time. Your kindness will carry them through the days ahead, and it will not be forgotten.
A separate fund has also been created for Madi's brother, Grant, who is facing a long road to recovery and expenses from his injuries in the accident. Please consider a donation to assist Grant as well. Support-Grant-Tegan
