Help Isaí Fulfill His Dream of Becoming a Doctor
A Mission of Faith, Love & Hope ❤️
This past August 2026, I had the beautiful opportunity to travel to Ecuador on a mission trip with my church. We went with one purpose: to serve, to share the love of Jesus, and to come alongside our brothers and sisters in Christ at Iglesia Evangelica Salasaca Diosga Cuymi.
During our time there, we had the privilege of getting to know Pastor Segundo Caizabanda and his family. Segundo is a faithful servant of God who has dedicated so much of his life to serving the Salasaka community in Ecuador.
For many years, Segundo helped translate the New Testament into his people's native language, Kichwa, so that families in his community could read and hear the Word of God in the language of their hearts. Today, he serves as an associate pastor, preaching the Gospel, discipling believers, visiting families, and ministering to those in need.
And here's something that truly touched my heart: Pastor Segundo does all of this without receiving a salary from his church. He has even had to take construction jobs to support his family while continuing to serve the Lord.
But today, I want to share something very special about his son, Isaí.
Isaí has been working incredibly hard toward his dream of becoming a doctor. Despite the financial challenges his family has faced, he has persevered, excelled academically, earned scholarships, and worked to help pay for his own education.
He is now in his final semester of medical school! After so many years of sacrifice, prayer, and hard work, he is SO close to reaching his goal!
Unfortunately, his family has exhausted their financial resources and has already taken out loans to help him get this far. In order for Isaí to begin his medical residency program in January 2027, he needs $8,000 USD.
That's where WE come in! ❤️
As Christians, we are called not only to preach about the love of Jesus but to demonstrate that love through our actions.
Galatians 6:2 reminds us: "Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ." (KJV)
I believe that when the body of Christ comes together, even the smallest acts of generosity can make an incredible difference.
Imagine what it would mean for this family to see brothers and sisters in Christ, from another country, coming together to help their son finish what he has worked so hard to accomplish!
Our goal is to raise $8,000 to help cover Isaí's medical residency fee, allowing him to take this next step without placing an even greater financial burden on his parents. For a family that has spent so many years giving to others, what a beautiful opportunity we have to give back!
As a Hispanic woman, I know how much family, faith, sacrifice, and education mean in our culture. I know the dreams that parents carry for their children and how hard they work to give them opportunities they themselves may never have had. This story touches my heart because I see a father who has devoted his life to serving God and a son who is working hard to build a future through education.
Today, we have the opportunity to be part of their story.
