Brittany Artisan City Church

Hello everyone!

My name is Brittany Plummer. First, I just want to say thank you so much for giving—whether that be through prayer, encouragement, or financial support.

I’ve been following Jesus since 2018, and His faithfulness has been never-ending. About five years ago, at a church event for youth leaders, I felt called to youth ministry. Since then, it has been such a journey of trying to figure out exactly what God was calling me to do with youth ministry in each season. I have been serving at my church (NewSpring Church) in our youth ministry since 2019. I had the opportunity to lead a group of amazing girls from 7th grade through 12th grade. During my time serving, I continued praying about what I should do with youth ministry long term. I always thought I would end up on staff at my church, but Jesus had other plans—far greater than I could ever imagine.

I was often asked, “What exactly do you feel called to in youth ministry?” and my answer had always been, “The students who don’t feel like they can come to church—the unreached ones.”

In 2023, I had the opportunity to go to Fortaleza, Brazil, on a mission trip. We were able to serve, love, and share the gospel in unreached places, including the red-light district. One specific night, while we were on top of a church building under the stars, I began to weep. The thought hit me: There is no youth ministry here. I felt my heart break in the same way Jesus’ heart breaks for His children. The desperation to fight for the next generation in unreached places became clear to me. From that trip, I knew that eventually, I would end up going somewhere unreached to help fight for the next generation to hear the name of Jesus.

Earlier this year, I sat down with my pastor and began really talking about next steps in my ministry journey. I started praying about Florida, and Jesus has slowly been stirring my heart and opening doors since then. I reached out to Chris Dew, the pastor of Artisan City Church, to learn more about the church and the youth ministry there. During our conversation, he honestly shared how broken the area of St. Petersburg, Florida, is—and that there wasn’t a youth ministry yet. While he was speaking, I couldn’t stop thinking about Brazil, and I realized that the thoughts I had then were the same ones I was having about Florida. Finally, it became clear.

I began praying specifically about Artisan City Church and moving to Florida to be part of the church, slowly help start a youth ministry, and share the Gospel with middle and high school students.

I know that Jesus is kind and always provides a way when we don’t see one. As a step of faith, I have decided to follow God’s calling and move to St. Petersburg, Florida. I am trying to raise a short-term goal of $9,000 to help start my life in Florida for the first three months. The living expenses there are much higher than at home. I will be looking for a job in Florida and transferring my cosmetology license, which is a process. Your support will help me get on my feet and step into the calling God has placed on my heart.

Thank you so much for supporting me and being part of this journey with me! If you want to hear more, please reach out 😊.
