Mission To Puerto Escondido Mexico

Our mission is to live out a life of surrendered faith, obediently stepping into God’s calling to serve in Puerto Escondido, Mexico, for six months—and to lay the groundwork for a long-term movement that unites discipleship, community development, and the transformative power of the Gospel.

As a newly married couple, we—Ophélie and I—have spent our first year of marriage building a foundation rooted in intentionality, prayer, and trust. Now, in our second year, we sense God’s invitation to extend that same intentionality beyond ourselves—to serve others, to build community, and to prepare for the next chapter of our calling. Our mission is not simply about travel or adventure; it is an act of surrender and faith. It is about being willing vessels for God’s work among the people of Puerto Escondido and throughout the state of Oaxaca.

Our short-term mission will serve as a six-month scouting and service trip in partnership with Victorious Christian Harvesters, an organization dedicated to evangelism and discipleship across Oaxaca. Through this collaboration, we aim to support ongoing outreach initiatives, equip believers through evangelism training, and participate in practical ministry through community projects and mentorship. Ophelie will devote this season to learning Spanish full-time under a Christian organization, preparing to engage deeply with the local culture and build lasting relationships. Meanwhile, I will work within the city—helping at a local coffee shop that serves as both a community hub and a place of ministry and visiting villages throughout the country side, while continuing to scout for the long-term vision God has placed in our hearts.

Our passion for coffee and missions has converged into a potential vision for ministry. Coffee has always been a global connector—cultivating community, sustaining livelihoods, and bridging cultures. We see it as a platform to reach unreached people groups, many of whom live and work in the coffee industry. The dream is to one day pioneer a Youth With A Mission (YWAM) base in Puerto Escondido that integrates faith, work, and discipleship. This base will focus on training believers through Discipleship Training Schools (DTS) with an emphasis on “coffee nations”—communities across the world tied to the coffee trade.

The long-term vision includes establishing a coffee farm that operates as both a missional business and a place of discipleship, where locals are empowered with skills, spiritual growth, and sustainable opportunity. We envision a home for those in need, land that can host training programs and retreats, and a space where hospitality becomes ministry. Our heart is to see the youth of Puerto Escondido encounter Jesus, grow in their faith, and be equipped to bring transformation to their own city and beyond.

Puerto Escondido is a city of immense potential—vibrant, diverse, and full of spiritual hunger. Yet it also faces deep challenges: poverty, rising cost of living, cartel influence, and the lure of the party culture. Amid these pressures, we see a powerful opportunity for the light of Christ to bring renewal, healing, and hope.

Our mission is clear: to plant roots that will bear eternal fruit. Through prayer, service, and partnership, we seek to see Oaxaca saturated with the Gospel, communities restored, and the next generation of believers equipped to carry the message of Jesus to the ends of the earth.

Together, with open hands and hearts, we step forward—believing for provision ($19,000), trusting in God’s direction, and walking boldly into the story He is writing. The first step to our vision is to scout the land. Joshua and Caleb had done that and saw that the land is good. We hope for the same.
