Charlotte Goes to Guatemala

This coming school year, I have the opportunity to go on a mission trip to Guatemala with other 8th graders from Southside Christian School. We will be serving alongside a church and Christian school in Magdalena, Guatemala, from January 16–22, 2026. The goal of the trip is to step outside of our comfort zones, grow in our faith, and serve others with the love of Christ.

This is my school's second year partnering with the people of Magdalena. While the plans for this year are still being finalized, last year's team helped teachers at the school, hiked into remote mountain villages to deliver water filters, handed out supplies like socks and warm hats, and led Vacation Bible School for the children.

I would really appreciate your prayers! Please pray that God helps me grow closer to Him, gives me a servant's heart, and uses our group to share His love with the kids in Magdalena.

The cost of the trip is about $1,750, which covers travel, lodging, food, and ministry supplies. I have already started saving by dog-sitting and working at summer day camps. I also plan to continue dog-sitting and refereeing soccer games to help pay for the trip. If you would like to support me financially, you can mail a check to me at 138 Thompson Road, Greer, SC 29651 or donate here.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my letter. Whether you are able to support me through prayer, a donation, or both, I truly appreciate your encouragement. I can't wait to see how God works through this trip, and I'm excited to share about the experience when I return!

With Gratitude,

Charlotte Miles
