**UPDATE 3: November 18, 2025
First, thank you from the bottom of my heart. The notes you shared warmed everyone's hearts and your donations will make a big difference. The donate button is still active and we are still accepting donations.
As a progress update, Utah Valley University appointed a memorial committee and I was appointed to serve on the committee. The committee has now met a couple of times to determine a process on a selection of artists and is coordinating with the University and other donors. While the process is going to take some time, I feel like the committee is heading the right direction.
Finally, the funds are still being held by GiveSendGo and a recipient hasn't been named yet to keep the funds in place. When the plan is finalized, the funds will be transferred to the University Foundation so that all funds will be spent on the memorial.
If you have any questions, please feel free to text at 801-810-4110 or email at vote@danmccay.com.
**UPDATE 2: You did it again!
9 days ago a family lost a husband and father.
9 days ago the world lost a leader.
The night Charlie died, I started working on this draft description of the memorial:
Prove Me Wrong, A Living Conversation: The Charlie Kirk Memorial at Utah Valley University
At the heart of this memorial stands a bronze table with two chairs, an enduring invitation to sit, reflect, and continue the dialogue. The table is not just a piece of art; it’s a gathering place, symbolizing the conversations Charlie Kirk began and the ones we must continue.
Upon the table rests a microphone, laid down just as Charlie would after he finished speaking. Its presence is more than symbolic, it’s an open call for the next voice to rise, the next perspective to be shared, the next leader to step forward. This is not a silent memorial; it is one that speaks, urging us to continue the exchange of ideas Charlie so deeply believed in.
Beside the microphone lies a Bible, a tribute to Charlie’s unwavering faith, the foundation of his convictions, and the source of his courage. Together, these elements embody his life’s work: faith, dialogue, and the belief that ideas change the world.
This memorial is not only a place to remember; it is a place to be inspired, to engage, and to keep building on the legacy Charlie left behind.
The sculptor, Ben Hammond, prepared these draft concepts based on the description and you can see those here:

Together we are going to build a fitting memorial for Charlie Kirk. Thank you to your generosity. We extended the goal to make sure more everyone has the opportunity to participate.
**UPDATE: You did it in less than 48 hours!**
Today we met with with Ben Hammond, a famous Utah sculptor to brainstorm ideas (www.benhammondfineart.com). He was really excited and had some great ideas on a direction. We are hoping to have some concepts next week that we can start sharing with Turning Point USA and everyone (follow @danmccay on X).
Since the memorial will cost more than the original $50,000, we’ve increased the goal so that we can keep up with the many friends of Charlie Kirk that want to be part of the memorial.
Dear Friends, Supporters, and Patriots,
We come together with heavy hearts to honor the life and legacy of Charlie Kirk, a fearless voice for truth, freedom, and conservative values. Charlie’s unwavering commitment to empowering young people, defending liberty, and fostering critical thinking touched countless lives, including many at Utah Valley University (UVU). His passion for engaging students in meaningful dialogue and inspiring civic responsibility left an indelible mark on our campus and beyond.
To celebrate Charlie’s enduring impact, we are launching this fundraiser to erect a memorial in his honor at Utah Valley University. Our goal is to raise **$50,000** to create a dignified and lasting tribute—a beautifully crafted memorial that will celebrate the principles Charlie Kirk gave his life for.
“Without free speech, there is no such thing as truth. The moment you silence opposing voices, you destroy the foundation of democracy.”
The memorial will serve as a gathering place for students, faculty, and visitors to reflect on Charlie’s legacy of courage, conviction, and dedication to fostering open discourse. It will stand as a beacon of inspiration, encouraging future generations at UVU to engage boldly in the battle of ideas and stand firm in their principles.
**How Your Support Will Help**:
- **Design and Construction**: Funds will cover the design, creation, and installation of a high-quality memorial that reflects Charlie’s stature and influence.
- **Landscaping and Maintenance**: Contributions will ensure the memorial site is beautifully landscaped and maintained for years to come.
- **Permits and Approvals**: Funds will cover necessary permissions and coordination with Utah Valley University to secure a prominent location on campus.
**Why This Matters**:
Charlie Kirk was more than a public figure; he was a mentor, a motivator, and a champion for young people seeking to understand and defend the values that make our nation strong. At UVU, his presence sparked conversations, challenged perspectives, and inspired students to think critically about the world around them. This memorial will ensure that his legacy continues to inspire, uniting students and the community in a shared commitment to truth and liberty.
**Join Us in Honoring Charlie**:
Every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to immortalizing Charlie Kirk’s name at Utah Valley University. Your support will create a lasting tribute that reminds us all of the power of one voice to change hearts, minds, and futures. Together, we can ensure that Charlie’s legacy—and the principles he stood for—will never be forgotten.
Let’s make sure the principles Charlie Kirk stands for lives on at UVU. Donate today and share this campaign with others who share our vision for honoring his legacy.
With gratitude and determination,
Senator Daniel McCay
Speaker Mike Schultz
Representative Trevor Lee
Ben Rogers
**Note**: All funds will be managed transparently, with regular updates provided to donors on the project’s progress. Any surplus funds will be donated to a scholarship fund in Charlie Kirk’s name to support UVU students pursuing civic engagement and leadership.
