Wilderness Watch Rescue Fund

Through a series of unfortunate events, I recently discovered that I am unable to refinance my mortgage, without clearing a substantial amount of my current debt. I am, as they put it, upside down financially.

Having just celebrated 75 years of family ownership of Wilderness Watch this year, it is a big pill to swallow, that I can not personally reconcile my finances in time for my refinancing in early December.

Last year, I purchased a vehicle privately, (last time ever!) that ended up being a total LEMON! I had already put a couple thousand into my old vehicle, before being told she was a goner. I bought the used one, had it a few months, put another $5,500.00 in repairs into it, only to have the transmission and engine fail completely, parked in my garage like a giant paperweight!! ($11,000.00!!)

I spent over 2 months without transportation, before finding my current vehicle. Unfortunately, the payment on this current vehicle is also killer, but absolutely necessary, as I needed the towing / load capabilities of this and not a smaller vehicle.

In addition to this, for the first time in 37 years, I was forced by Township Laws, to change the way I operate my rental, going from $1,400.00/ week to only $2,500.00/ MONTH, due to a change in the way the Township had decided to operate. I CAN ONLY RENT MONTHLY, without serious financial hardship of a considerable amount of additional taxes and fees!! Anything over 29 days and I am exempt from that, but took a big hit financially to accommodate.

i gave an introductory price this season, but will still only be at $3,000.00/ MONTH in 2027! From June through October, ONLY if I can book it all!! A very limited time to recoup Property Tax monies for each year!

The rental is not winterized nor available during the cold months.

I have maxed out my (high interest) credit cards to survive, with them taking $100.00 in monthly fees, in addition to my balances and that, along with previous loans, lemon auto loan and newer auto loan have put me in a deep financial hole…

I have not been one to broadcast my situation, post divorce, but now I find myself in a particularly difficult situation! I can not meet my current obligations and get my property taxes caught up in time to refinance my home. I am for the first time in 37 years, at risk of losing my home and being forced to sell (my soul!)

Many of those I know, have been to Wilderness Watch and know just how special this place is! If you know me, then you know how much my home and this piece of YOOPER Property means to me!

I am asking for a big assist to get me back on track, so I don’t end up right back here next year!

Any amount will help! Every penny means I get another chance to hold on to my home!

I am humbly asking for your help and support in reaching my Tax debt goal, so that I might go forward knowing my future will get better and I will not lose my HOME!

I give my most sincere GRATITUDE to those who find it in their hearts to help me at this difficult time!!
