My name is Tish Hyman. For 16 years, music was my life. I wrote songs, I recorded records, I was nominated for a Grammy. I built a career one stage, one studio and one song at a time. I never asked to become an activist. I never wanted to be a headline.
Then one day I walked into a women's locker room and found multiple men inside.
I did what so many women have been taught not to do. I spoke up. I said out loud what so many of us were feeling: this isn't right, this isn't safe, and women deserve spaces of their own.
That moment went viral, and it changed my life overnight.
What it cost me
I want to be honest with you, because honesty is the whole reason I'm here.
Speaking the truth cost me almost everything. The music business I spent 16 years building no longer supports me. Doors that used to be open closed. People I called friends stopped calling. I lost income, relationships and the life I thought I'd be living.
Today it's me and the women and men who refuse to stay quiet. It's me and you.
I'm not telling you this so you'll feel sorry for me. I'm telling you because I want you to understand that I'm all in. I can't turn back, and I won't.
Why I keep going
After my story spread, the messages started pouring in. Mothers worried about their daughters. Athletes who trained their whole lives and then lost their spot on the podium. Women who'd felt unsafe and uncomfortable in spaces meant for them, and who were afraid of what would happen to them if they said so.
They kept saying the same thing: "Thank you for saying what I couldn't."
That's why United in Truth exists.
United in Truth is a movement led by women, for women. We are here to protect women's privacy, safety, dignity and fairness, in locker rooms, restrooms, shelters, and sports. Every Tuesday at 10 AM, I host a women-only Zoom where women from all over come together to speak freely, support one another, and organize real action. We're building working groups state by state, starting with California.
This isn't about hate. It's about truth. Women are not a feeling or a costume. We are a reality, and our spaces matter.
What your support makes possible
I can't do this on goodwill alone. This fight takes real resources, and right now I'm funding it without the music career that used to carry me. Here's exactly where your donation goes:
Legal support. Women's rights are being decided in courtrooms and legislatures. We need lawyers who will stand up for women and help us push back when our rights are ignored. Legal help is expensive, and it's one of the most powerful tools we have.
Travel. I need to be where the fight is: at hearings, rallies, school board meetings, interviews and gatherings with women who need to know they're not alone. Showing up in person changes minds in a way a post never can.
Supplies and outreach. Signs, printed materials, equipment, filming and production, so we can document the truth and get it in front of as many people as possible.
Keeping the movement running. The weekly Zooms, organizing tools, and the everyday work of building a community that lasts.
Every dollar goes directly into this work.
Why now
Every week we wait, more girls lose their spots on teams, more women feel unsafe in spaces meant to protect them, and more policies get passed without women ever being asked. The people on the other side of this are organized and well funded. We have to be too.
I've already given up my career, my comfort, and my circle to stand here. I'm not asking you to give up everything. I'm asking you to stand next to me.
How you can help
Give. $10, $25, $100, whatever you can. Small gifts add up, and every one of them tells me I'm not alone.
Share. Send this page to the women in your life. Post it. Text it. Shares are as valuable as dollars.
Join us. Women, come to our Tuesday Zoom at 10 AM and add your voice.
Pray. If you're a person of faith, please keep this movement and the women it's fighting for in your prayers.
My promise to you
I will keep telling the truth, even when it costs me. I will put your support to work where it matters most. And I'll keep you updated every step of the way, so you'll see exactly what your generosity made possible.
They thought taking away my career and my friends would make me quiet. Instead, it gave me a new family: all of you.
We are United in Truth. And we are not going anywhere.
With love, gratitude, and resolve,
Tish Hyman
