❤️ Please Keep Hector Chávez in Your Prayers ❤️
Hello everyone,
We wanted to share an update on our brother, Hector Chávez, and ask that you please continue to keep him and his family in your prayers.
On Monday, October 19th, Hector began a new chemotherapy treatment. The following day, Tuesday, October 20th, he attended additional doctor’s appointments and received medication to help prevent future viral infections.
Later that evening, his wife, Guille, noticed swelling on the right side of his face and rushed him to the emergency room.
While being evaluated, the medical team noticed that Hector had a wet cough and a significant buildup of phlegm that was making it more difficult for him to breathe. After running several tests and taking X-rays, the doctors decided it was best to keep him overnight to treat his respiratory symptoms. Given everything Hector is going through, even symptoms that might seem minor can quickly become serious.
On Wednesday morning, our brother Sam went to stay with Hector so Guille could go to work. After a couple of hours, we were told that Hector had done well overnight and would soon be discharged. Unfortunately, as he was getting ready to go home, he began experiencing respiratory difficulties again.
Because the masses are located very close to his airway, the doctors ordered a CT scan. Sadly, the results revealed an infection in his lungs. Hector needed to remain hospitalized to receive strong antibiotics and be closely monitored until the infection clears.
Today, Friday, we received some encouraging news. Hector’s medical team in Progressive Critical Care (PCC) confirmed that he has been responding very well to the antibiotics. We are grateful for this positive update and continue to pray for his recovery, healing, and strength.
This coming November will mark one full year since Hector has been unable to work. It has been an incredibly challenging journey for him and his family. Guille has had to transition from being a stay-at-home mom to becoming the primary provider for Hector and their children, all while managing the household and keeping up with Hector’s many medical appointments.
It has been a long and difficult road, and with the holidays just around the corner, the challenges continue. Medical bills and everyday living expenses do not stop, even during the hardest times.
We created this fundraiser to show Hector and his family that they are not alone. Our hope is to help ease some of the financial burden they have been carrying and remind them that they have a loving community standing beside them.
Any donation, no matter how big or small, would mean so much to Hector and his family. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this post and continuing to keep Hector in your prayers. Every act of kindness, every share, and every prayer makes a difference.
Thank you all for your continued prayers, love, generosity, and support during this difficult time. Your kindness means more than words can express. ❤️🙏
May God continue to give Hector strength, guide his medical team, bless Guille with strength and comfort, and surround their children with peace and love. May He continue to watch over this beautiful family and carry them through this difficult journey.
❤️🙏 Thank you for standing with Hector and his family. 🙏❤️
Thank you,
Samuel Vega
