With a heavy heart, I write this plea for your prayers and financial support for one of God’s children, Kathy DeBruhl (aka Kathy Vogt). Already caring for two adult children with disabilities, Kathy made her living by caring for a disabled adult in her home. It was a slim margin of income. She also hosts church services in her home.
In September, her 26 year old disabled daughter, Tiffany, had to be taken to the hospital for uncontrolled seizures. While in the hospital, Tiffany choked. Her breathing stopped. Her heart stopped. For 20 minutes, she was gone! They gave her CPR – twice!
The medical team at the hospital managed to revive Tiffany, but she had to be intubated - twice, and was unconscious in the ICU for many days. She was left with broken ribs and possible brain damage. Her ability to speak was lost.
Finances were totally wiped out with Kathy’s income lost. Kathy had no choice but to take Tiffany home for her rehabilitation and recovery. Staying in the hospital was not financially feasible.
In Kathy’s own words, “I’m just tired but will persevere. I’ll just be honest. EVERY step, Satan has tried to intervene and cause havoc and at every step God has intervened and done miracles. This girl, even with mild MR etc. LOVES God and Jesus Christ! That is first thing she wrote after being taken off ventilator for a second time! I’m blessed as a mother, and humbled.”
During that time, Kathy’s income was gone. While she was able to pay October’s rent for their modest home, she is left with absolutely no funds for anything else. She is in a desperate place and requests your help. Any contributions small or larger are gratefully received.
