Update: as of 1:45pm 10/4
They switched Linnaea to steroid pills and she didn’t tolerate it well. CRP went way up and symptoms returned. So they started her on an immune suppression drug.. this is from Taylor:
Doc said it’s in the ball park of chemo. It’s a 3hr infusion as long as it goes well. They will also be putting her on Tylenol and Benadryl through this whole thing. Waiting to hear when they’re going to start it. Seems like she responded well to the drug. They gave her the first dose two evenings ago. Not sure when the next dose will be, depends on labs and symptoms. But there’s not much research on if it’s ok to breastfeed with it. And it’ll be in her system for a few weeks. I think she is leaning towards weaning from pumping and not BF cooper anymore. But we’ll see what she decides for sure. They basically said it’s probably ok to keep breastfeeding. Not super reassuring.
Probably in the hospital for another week still. :(
Update: as of 3:00pm 9/27
Her labs are trending in a good direction!! Steroids seem to be working finally, she is up and walking around and breastfed Cooper this afternoon. They are hoping the labs continue to show improvement and then they might be able to switch the steroids to pill and think about getting out of the hospital.
Update: As of 2:00pm 9/26
The GI doctor has said that the big concerns are Linnaea’s nutritional deficiency and her inflammation. The steroids don’t seem to be making strong improvements, so there are possibilities of other medications (which, of course, have their own sets of side effects to consider). Please continue to pray that the inflammation will drastically reduce and that she can get some nutrients to help her body build strength again!
Please join us in supporting Taylor and Linnaea as they walk through some medical complications unrelated to pregnancy/birth that Linnaea has been experiencing. She is currently admitted at Providence in Anchorage to get to the bottom of what’s going on. We know and trust that the Lord is at work and will continue to show his power in answering His people. First and foremost please pray for a few specifics.
Pray for peace
“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.” Isaiah 26:3-4 We know that the Lord supplies amazing amounts of peace to His people in the midst of trails. Pray for Linnaea to be sealed in a bubble of perfect peace that surpasses all understanding. That she would find deep rest in the arms of the Father.
Pray for Wisdom
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” James 1:5 Pray for wisdom in all their decisions, that they would follow the Lords direction.
Pray for healing
“And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up.”
James 5:15 Pray for complete healing for Linnaea. That her body would be completely restored, that she would be pain free, able take care of her little ones and live in the joy of HIS presence. She was started on a medication to decrease inflammation in her gut, please pray that it is effective!
Pray for provision
“Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.” Psalm 55:22 Pray that the Lord would meet their every need! Only He knows what they need when they need it. Pray for the right people at the right time to step in with the right things. Only the Lord can orchestrate these details.
Lastly consider giving to them financially as medical expenses and other expenses all add up, if you can’t give please consider sharing the post! In addition Taylor couldn’t finish his hunting season. Giving financially can help lift that specific burden and stress. Let’s surround Taylor and Linnaea with our support to ultimately point to the Lords perfect provision for them!
