Surgery for Warrior – My Rescued Mustang & Healing Companion
(Helping a 100% disabled veteran with PTSD keep his horse)
Warrior is not just a horse. He is the living proof that second chances are real.
He was an American Mustang, wild and free, until a brutal Nevada snowstorm nearly took his life. Rescued from those frozen mountains, he found his way to me—a 100% disabled veteran still fighting a war that never fully ended. The service left me with more than memories. It left me with a body and mind that no longer work the way they once did. Chronic pain, PTSD that crashes over me without warning, anxiety that steals sleep and peace, and the heavy weight of injuries that forced me into 100% disability. On the hardest days, simply getting out of bed feels like another battle.
Then Warrior came into my life.
From the moment this once-wild Mustang lowered his head and let me touch him, something broken inside me began to heal. He doesn’t judge the trembling hands or the sudden silence when the memories hit. He just stands with me. His steady breathing, the warmth of his neck, the quiet strength in his eyes—these are the only things that can pull me back when the darkness of PTSD and anxiety tries to take over. He is my therapy, my anchor, my reason to keep going when the disability makes every day feel like a fight I might lose.
Now that same hope is slipping away.
Warrior has kissing spine, a cruel and agonizing condition that is stealing his ability to move without pain. Every step hurts him. Every day he endures is a quiet battle I can feel in my own chest. Without surgery, this is a life-or-death fight he cannot win alone. The procedure and the careful recovery he will need cost $7,000—money I simply do not have. As a 100% disabled veteran with limited means, I am desperate. The same service that took so much from me has left me without the financial strength to save the one creature who still gives me strength in return.
I am begging for the chance to give Warrior the same second chance he gave me.
Please help me save the horse who saves me every single day. Your kindness would not just fund a surgery—it would keep a broken veteran’s heart beating a little stronger, and give a once-wild Mustang the pain-free life he deserves.
Thank you for standing with us. Warrior and I are counting on you.
