Support Megan's Treatment

It has been almost 8 years that my dear friend Megan has been battling breast cancer. With God as her strength and her husband, Brad, by her side, she has continued to fight and has no desire to let the cancer win. During her first go with cancer, Megan endured chemotherapy that took a tremendous toll on her body. I didn't know her then, but I can only imagine how miserable that time in her life was. In 2022, Megan was diagnosed for the second time. She decided to treat her cancer differently this time and while she did not have to endure the chemotherapy again, she was constantly in tremendous amounts of pain that limited her mobility in her shoulder and arm. In December of 2025, the doctors said the magical word, "remission". FINALLY!!!, after 3+ years of fighting, SHE WON!!!

Not so fast... four short months later she had a follow up scan where she and Brad learned there were two new spots of concern. Her current treatment was no longer working. In October 2026, her most recent scan showed the two spots had about doubled in size in four months’ time.

As Brad and Megan, their families, and church continue to trust the Lord's emerging plan, we find ourselves at the next steps of her treatment:

Megan's doctor has suggested she attend Hope 4 Cancer in Tijuana, Mexico. While the outcomes for people who have received care from this facility have been incredibly positive, the cost of care is not something to sneeze at. This is the reason for our goal of $80,000. To break down the high dollar amount a little bit, $60,000 of that is to be paid up front for treatment. The $60,000 will cover airfare for both her and Brad, travel to and from the airport, lodging, meals, over 200 therapeutic medical sessions in a three-week span of time, and two additional trips back to Tijuana. It also includes medical supplies and treatment supplies for her to use once she comes home. The additional $20,000 will be used to cover the costs of medical care once Megan comes home. One potential treatment when she comes home is a regularly occurring vitamin C infusion, which is around $600 per infusion. There will be additional requirements once she is home in order to maintain the treatment she received.

Megan and Brad have become a part of our family. Not only are they two of our closest friends, but Megan also takes the best care of our 1-year-old son two days a week. He just lights up when he sees her! Megan and Brad are so very special to us and we want them to feel all the love and support possible. God is so faithful and His plan is perfect. Please join us in lifting these two in prayer, coming alongside them with your love, and consider blessing them on this next portion of their journey.

**Also be on the lookout for information regarding a Chili Cook Off Fundraiser for Megan once she has a date set to leave.**

Here are a few words from Megan’s sister, Amanda:

My sweet sister has fought for her life - often quietly and painfully - over the last 7 years. She has traveled a journey full of more (and longer, harrowing) valleys than many of us experience in such a span of time. I have watched Megan lean on the Lord more and more as she has dealt with pain, disappointment, hopelessness, weariness… She has been an example of fortitude in the midst of fire. I am so grateful our three kiddos have the honor of calling her Auntie M - and that they will see her healing come and get to rejoice for all our answered prayers!

Brad and Megan are clinging to the promises of God and the words He has spoken to them. They are now venturing to heal her body with something that calls for much beyond their means. This trek to Hope 4 Cancer is the next step God has laid before them. They are trusting for Him to make a way for this to not be such the heavy burden it would be if they had to carry it alone. We have great joy and are filled with renewed hope as we support them in this next step and pray you do as well!

With this news, strengthen those who have tired hands,

and encourage those who have weak knees.

Say to those with fearful hearts,

“Be strong, and do not fear, for your God is coming to destroy your enemies.

He is coming to save you.

Isaiah 35:3-4
