On September 12th, Brittany and her family experienced a devastating house fire after a lightning strike struck a gas line, causing an explosion in their basement. Thankfully, Brittany and her fiancé Dylan were unharmed. Dylan was able to get their two dogs out of the house and to safety but unfortunately, two of their cats did not survive the fire.
The fire department does believe that their home is salvageable, but have been told that they will be displaced for at minimum 3-4 months while repairs are completed. Additionally, because of the heavy amount of smoke throughout the home, nearly all of their belongings need to be replaced. This includes clothing and other everyday items and necessities for both Brittany, Dylan, and their daughter. With so many things needing to be replaced and a lot of uncertainty, financial donations would give them the ability to purchase what they need as they work through these next several months.
This also happened at a time when Brittany and Dylan were enjoying being newly engaged, and had just began planning and set a wedding date for September of 2027. For those who may not know Britt personally, she is a 911 dispatcher and has spent that last 11 years helping people through their own emergencies every day. Right now, I would just like to make things a little easier on her and family while they deal with this incredibly difficult situation.
Any money raised will go directly to Britt and her family with the intent to replace clothing, personal belongings, and any expenses they may incur due to the displacement. There is absolutely no expectation to donate, but if you are able and would like to share or help anything is appreciated. Most importantly, they are safe and unharmed. While they have a long few months ahead of them in dealing with the loss of their pets and the damages to their home, I am hopeful that taking off a bit of the financial stress will allow their family to focus on getting settled and healing from this.
