On September 21, 2026, my cousin Selina and her three beautiful babies experienced a terrifying and senseless act of violence that has fundamentally changed their lives.
In the middle of the night, while the family was home sleeping, multiple suspects walked up to Selina’s house on foot and opened fire directly into her home and vehicle. A barrage of bullets pierced through the walls where her family sleeps, and riddled her car with gunfire. This horrifying attack was a severe case of mistaken identity, and Selina's innocent family was wrongly targeted. While it is an absolute miracle that there were no physical casualties, the traumatic ordeal has completely upended their safety and peace of mind.
This house wasn't just where they lived; it was also where Selina homeschools her children. The very walls that served as their classroom, their safe haven, and their sanctuary are now riddled with bullet holes. The physical damage to her home and vehicle is severe, leaving them feeling completely unsafe and forcibly displaced. To keep her three young children out of harm's way, Selina has no choice but to break her lease early and relocate immediately to a secure environment where her children can feel safe to play, learn, and sleep at night without fear.
Beyond the immediate danger, this crisis has dealt a devastating financial direct hit to Selina’s livelihood. Selina is a hardworking small business owner who runs her own cleaning company. Because of the crime and the immediate need to flee the property, all of her commercial cleaning supplies and equipment had to be packed away and put into emergency storage. Without access to her tools, she cannot service her clients, resulting in a severe loss of wages and the heartbreaking loss of long-term customers.
We have set a fundraising goal of $7,500 to help Selina and her babies safely transition and rebuild. Every dollar raised will go directly to Selina to cover:
- Lease break penalties and a security deposit for a safe new home.
- Emergency relocation costs and moving expenses.
- The $1,000 deductible to file an insurance claim and fix the severe damage to her car.
- Replacing ruined groceries, stored food, and everyday necessities for the three kids.
- Supplementing lost business income to cover bills until she can safely retrieve her supplies, replace any damaged learning materials, and restart her cleaning company.
No mother should have to choose between financial ruin and her children's physical safety. Please consider donating to help surround Selina and her babies with the security they desperately need right now. If you are unable to donate, please share this link and keep Selina and her three children in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you for your immense generosity.
