My cousin, Jennifer Stansill, is normally the person taking care of others. She’s been doing it most of her life. As the oldest daughter of three, she often took care of her younger siblings. For her career, she chose to be a nurse and has spent decades providing excellent care as a cardiac care RN. She’s a loving wife and a dedicated mother of two, ages 13 and 10. Now, Jennifer finds herself needing care and support.
In February of this year, she found a breast lump, and on April 16th, Jennifer heard those fear-inducing words, “You have breast cancer.” She was diagnosed with Stage 2, Grade 3 triple-negative breast cancer, and began chemotherapy on May 14th after multiple diagnostic tests, including her chemo port placement. As of October 1st, Jennifer still has four weeks of chemo to complete, and will need breast surgery before the end of the year.
Thankfully, Jennifer has supportive family and friends, who have been able to help with daily tasks and such; however, she has not been able to work for four months. Chemotherapy has put her at a higher risk for infection, which would be detrimental.
Throughout this journey, Jennifer has never wavered in her faith and trust in God. She remains positive in the midst of hard days. As a continuation of the support she deserves, I am asking for your donations to help ease some of the financial burden for Jennifer and her family. Any amount will be a huge blessing. Thank you!
