A Plea for Help for My Sister, Randi ❤️
I’m reaching out on behalf of my sister, Randi, who recently became the victim of a sophisticated fraud and identity theft scheme.
Through deception and manipulation, criminals gained access to her financial accounts and stole approximately $300,000 of her hard-earned savings.
In a matter of moments, the financial security she had worked so hard to build was taken from her.
For those who know Randi, you know that she has always been a generous, caring, and compassionate person. She has spent her life helping others, often giving even when she didn’t have much to give herself.
Randi has also endured unimaginable heartbreak.
In 2014, she lost her beloved 14-year-old son, Miles, following a tragic accident. Even in the midst of that devastating loss, Miles became an organ donor, giving six people the precious gift of life.
Through that heartbreak, Randi continued to move forward with grace, kindness, and a willingness to help others whenever she could.
Now, she is facing another incredibly difficult chapter in her life.
Beyond the financial devastation, having her identity compromised and her trust violated has been emotionally overwhelming.
Randi has reported the fraud to the authorities and has been working tirelessly to understand what happened and explore every possible avenue for recovery.
Unfortunately, the reality is that the stolen funds are not likely to be recovered. Much of the money has been transferred internationally, making recovery extremely difficult.
But Randi isn’t giving up without trying.
She has already spoken with a law firm that is reviewing her situation to determine whether there are any legal avenues worth pursuing. This will likely require an upfront legal retainer, along with additional expenses.
We are not asking people to replace the money that was stolen.
Our hope is to raise enough to help Randi obtain professional legal assistance, explore any remaining possibility of recovery, and begin finding her footing again.
One of the hardest parts of this for Randi is accepting that she needs help.
She has always been fiercely independent and proud of being able to take care of herself and others. Asking for help simply isn’t in her nature. Her pride has made even the thought of a fundraiser difficult for her to accept.
But sometimes life brings us to a place where we can’t do everything on our own, no matter how strong we’ve always been.
As her sister, I want her to know that there is no shame in accepting the same kindness and generosity she has so freely given to others throughout her life.
After everything Randi has been through, I would love nothing more than to help ease some of the enormous financial and emotional burden she is carrying.
She has spent so much of her life being there for others. Now I’m hoping we can come together and be there for her.

Sometimes the people who have given the most are the ones who find it hardest to ask for help.
