Dotty is a beloved member of the Pittsburgh community. At 80 years old, she has been bagging groceries at Kuhn’s Market on Banksville Road for the past nine years, where she has won the hearts of so many customers and staff with her cheerful personality and loving heart.
Shortly before Christmas, while on her way to work, Dotty slipped on black ice and broke her hip, which required surgery. She had already been struggling to make ends meet, so this time off has really been a set back and a financial burden, which continues to mount, as her recovery process could take up to a year. Additionally, Dotty’s car recently caught on fire and was rendered a “total loss.” Only able to afford liability insurance, she is now without transportation.
Since the passing of her husband, Dotty has been on her own financially, surviving on minimal social security and her earnings at the grocery store, which is why she has continued to work well past retirement age.
We’re calling on the good people of Pittsburgh, and her Kuhn’s family of customers and staff, to help Dotty get some much-needed help and relief. Any amount is appreciated, as this account is set up exclusively for Dotty, with her as the sole beneficiary of all funds.
We hope that you will find it in your hearts to help her recover from the loss of these recent events and aspire to raise enough money for her to finally retire for good! Thank you all in advance for your generosity and support.
