Rodney’s Story

Our bother Rodney Elliott, is fighting a very serious and aggressive cancer.

Rodney has metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer — meaning the cancer has spread throughout his body and no longer responds to standard treatments. It has invaded his lymph nodes, skeleton, and bone marrow. Despite surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, hormone therapy, and advanced nuclear medicine treatments, the disease continues to progress. Recently, his bone marrow began failing due to the cancer and the intensity of treatment. This has caused:

• Severe anemia requiring repeated blood transfusions

• Dangerous infection risk from immune suppression

• Extreme fatigue and weakness

• Cognitive slowing and reduced stamina

• Frequent hospitalizations, Because of this, Rodney is medically unable to work — permanently. Even routine daily activities are difficult, and he must avoid public exposure due to infection risk. He is currently in a clinical trial trying to control the disease, but it is not a cure. The goal is simply to give him more time and maintain quality of life.
