Hello, I am Robert. In 2014, my wife and I moved from our hometown to broaden our horizons. We ended up in a small West Texas town where we raised our 14- and 9-year-olds, and later, in 2019, we were blessed with a beautiful autistic baby girl and also took in an elderly parent who later passed away. Through it all, we kept our heads down and worked through the struggles with help from our church, family, friends, and community.
In March 2026, we lost our forever home to a devastating fire. Thanks again to our church, community, friends, and family, we started plans to rebuild and continue our journey. In July, Nina was laid off from her nursing home job. Then, in October 2026, Nina was diagnosed with cancer. Luckily, my company insurance helps, but for her treatment, I will have to stay home to care for her, as our older children have also married, had their own children, and moved away. My job is secure through FMLA, but I will not have an income during her six-month chemotherapy treatments, and our savings are quickly being diminished by home and hospital bills. It is with great humility that I come here to ask for help to carry on and provide for my wife and child while we go through this rough patch.
Thank you everyone for your help, and thank you, if for nothing else, for listening to my story.
I am Robert’s wife, and I will receive the donations through our joint bank account. Robert and I will use the funds for medical and home bills, lodging, and travel to my treatment facility.
