So I have a dental infection, really two infections but the infection on my bottom left tooth has gotten really bad to the point I've had times I was bleeding from the gums more in that same area. I'm also in pain and I have been able to get amoxicillin when I go to the ER but it hasn't been as effective anymore. I tried first getting a root canal through UIC on Medicaid after being kicked off it for some time and getting it back finally but they told they don't cover root canals for certain teeth which included mine, apparently they only cover front teeth.
I tried private dental insurance under EMI health and they apparently have a one year waiting period for endodontics operations and I feel like I'm almost completely barricaded from the care I need. One clinic I tried it costs around $900 for the root canal, I found a cash based dentist that does it for $500. It's funny how the place that doesn't involve insurance has it cheaper but I need all the help I can get because my dental situation is not sustainable and getting worse and worse.
