I am raising funds for my sister, who has stage 4 breast cancer. She lives in the Philippines. She is a widow. Her 2 daughters are unemployed, they feel helpless because they cannot help with the medical bills. My sister, Mila, felt a lump on her breast in March of this year. She went to a doctor’s office and got an X-ray. I sent her some money to help cover transportation costs, which require 4-5 transfers to get to the hospital, which drained the funds quickly. In the Philippines, if you don’t have cash to pay, you will not receive treatment, so the need is urgent. I am starting this Fundraiser because I am 72 years old and my husband is turning 71 years old in March. We are drained out financially, emotionally, spiritually. Recently, her diagnosis went from stage 3 to stage 4, and the doctors are suggesting chemotherapy, which is expensive. It is very difficult for us to continue helping my sister, especially because we are already helping our children and grandchildren here in the US. My sister's situation is dire: First, we thought she would have surgery so the lump will be removed, as we were told; then it changed when the latest results showed nodules in her lungs. Another test is recommended if some of her organs are affected as well. We appreciate any help with all the expensive treatments and tests she needs. God bless you all as the Spirit leads you. A big amount or a small amount matters a lot, as the life of my sister is at stake. She is 62 years old, the mother of 3 and the grandmother of 2 grandchildren. Allow me to share Psalm 41:1-3 "I pronounce a blessing over those who show kindness, mercy, and active care to the poor, weak, and helpless." God promised that HE will protect and deliver them in times of adversity. Psalm 10:17 says “Lord, you know the hopes of the helpless. Surely, you will hear their cries and comfort them.” And I know the Lord personally attends to, listens to, and comforts those who have no other source of strength or power. Lastly, Proverbs 19:17 says “One who is gracious to a poor person lends to the Lord, and HE will repay him for his good deed.” God bless you and your family!
