Help Mackenzie and Her Children Through a Life Changing Tragedy
On October 2, 2026, Mackenzie’s life and the lives of her four children changed in an instant.
Mackenzie was involved in a devastating motor vehicle accident that left her fighting for her life and facing a long, painful road to recovery.
The injuries she sustained were catastrophic. She suffered a shattered pelvis, a broken hip, six broken ribs, five additional fractured ribs, a grade 4 liver laceration, and a torn spleen. Due to the severity of her injuries, Mackenzie was placed in a medically induced coma until October 9.
On October 12, she underwent another surgery to repair her hip. Just days later, on October 16, she required an emergency procedure to address internal bleeding from her liver that had not previously been identified.
While we are incredibly grateful that Mackenzie survived, her fight is far from over.
Doctors anticipate that she will require approximately three months of inpatient physical rehabilitation, followed by continued recovery and adjustments as she works toward regaining her mobility and independence.
For a mother of four who has spent her life caring for others, suddenly being unable to care for herself or her children has been heartbreaking.
Mackenzie is not only a devoted mother but also the primary financial provider for her family. With her injuries leaving her unable to work for the foreseeable future, the financial burden has become overwhelming.
Her parents have stepped up tremendously, caring for the children and doing everything they can to keep the family afloat. But even with their love, sacrifices, and support, the financial responsibilities of maintaining a household and caring for four children do not stop simply because tragedy strikes.
