Lucah’s Road to Recovery

On Thursday afternoon, I received a frantic call from my brother-in law about a 4-wheeler accident he, his wife, and two small children (4&5) were involved in. He had said that his son, Lucah(5), had been knocked unconscious for several minutes and when he came to, could not walk. They were on a mountain side, up the St. Joe river and needed help. We were too far away to get to them, so my mother instructed them to get to their pick up and drive as carefully as they could to the hospital. Shortly after meeting them at the E.R. we learned that Lucah had a stable fracture in his lower neck and a fracture of the pelvis. That same night, my sister and her son were flown to Seattle, Washington to receive better care than our small town hospital could offer them. We are unsure how long Lucah will need to be in the hospital for and are still awaiting more scans of his spine.

My sister, Nicole, is a stay at home mom and their family solely relies on her husband, Jacob’s, income. Jacob was also injured with the 4-wheeler rolling onto his back and neck, resulting in hematomas. With the uncertainty of the length of recovery for both Jacob and Lucah, our family is humbly asking for your thoughts, prayers, and donations, if you are able. Thank you and God bless.

Update: Lucah is back home and resting. He needs assistance with walking and is wearing a neck brace. He will have an appointment in Seattle in a week to assess his injuries. Jacob will be getting another x-ray set up soon to see whether or not there are any fractures in his back or neck but until then, he won’t be returning to work. Thank you all for the continued prayers and support for my sister and her family.
