Our nonprofit, Love Like Maddie Foundation, was started after our daughter Maddie Hines was killed in a car accident in October 2023, just days short of her 4th birthday.
Maddie always wanted a big girl bike, and her grandparents had one picked out and ready for her birthday, but she was never able to get that gift. We want to give the gift of a bike, and the joy it brings, to other kids in our area for Christmas who may not receive one without some help.
This year we are teaming up with our local sheriff's office for a toy drive. Each Christmas they help around 200 families fulfill their kids' Christmas lists, and at least 70 bikes are requested on those lists.
Each bike costs about $100.
We are raising $7,500 in hopes of providing 75 bikes to children this Christmas in honor of Maddie. This is a yearly goal of ours, and something we are super passionate about.
