Lindsey is 48 years old, and has been very healthy his whole life. He is husband to Bertha and father to Elaine, 19, Sonya, 16, Kathy, 15, Megan, 11, and Jackson, 9. On August 23, 2025, after some strange and uncharacteristic symptoms, we discovered that Lindsey had a large, very aggressive, cancerous brain tumor. He underwent brain surgery and they were able to remove two thirds of the tumor. Two weeks later he had surgery again to install a VP shunt. It's been a long and difficult journey with multiple hospital stays. He needs careful monitoring through weekly blood-work. They’re doing weekly red light therapy and Vitamin C infusions. He also gets lots of other vitamins and supplements every day, which hopefully are helping his immune system stay in shape. Still, there’s been a steady decline in physical strength, unfortunately. He walks when he needs to, but not more than necessary. His short term memory is basically nonexistent, which creates a unique set of challenges for caregivers.

Recently we were made aware of a clinic in Boise, ID that offers a hopeful treatment. It will require moving to Boise for a few months. We hope to travel over there this coming weekend and begin treatment immediately. The Dr said it normally takes 4-8 weeks but of course it’s impossible to know what to expect till we actually get started and see how Lindsey’s body responds to the treatment.The treatment requires around-the-clock infusions, so Lindsey & Bertha will need to stay in the vicinity. Most likely the younger children will stay there also, and the teenage girls will probably divide their time between Boise and home.

Lindsey has not been able to work since he was diagnosed, but God has provided for the family's needs in abundant ways through His people. Thank you so much! Our local community has been amazing, supporting us in many ways. We are hesitant to move away from home for the time being but we are becoming desperate for more treatment for Lindsey. This particular treatment is not available close to home, unfortunately. We feel God's leading in going to Boise.
