An Open Letter from the People of Europe
Europe is moving in a direction that millions of its people never asked for.
Political power is becoming increasingly centralized, public dissatisfaction with the European Union is growing, and Europe is once again being prepared for confrontation and war.
We believe Europeans should have a voice in what happens next.
That is why I created DISBAND.EU and wrote an Open Letter to the President of the European Commission — a direct response from ordinary Europeans to those who claim to speak in our name.
The idea is simple:
Let the people of Europe answer.
We are building a peaceful and lawful Europe-wide campaign around this letter.
The Open Letter will be published in the languages of the European Union, and people across Europe will be able to read it, add their signature and see how many people in each country have signed.
If enough people sign, we intend to bring the signatures to Brussels together and deliver our answer publicly.
But the letter is only the beginning.
DISBAND.EU is also building a community where people from the same country can find one another, connect with existing national initiatives and work together on the next step:
giving the people of their country a democratic opportunity to decide their future relationship with the European Union.
Where a lawful route to a nationwide referendum already exists, we want to help people understand and use it.
Where no straightforward mechanism exists, we want to help people explore the constitutional and legal options available in their country and build a lawful path forward.
Different countries have different rules. The route may be different — but the work can begin.
The Czech Republic will be our first practical model
Alongside the European campaign, we are building Milion chvilek pro republiku, the Czech national initiative.
Our aim is to work toward referendums on EU membership in the Czech Republic, develop the necessary legal and organisational procedures, and document what works.
What we learn will become a practical blueprint for people in other European countries — particularly those whose legal systems do not currently provide citizens with a straightforward way to initiate a nationwide referendum.
We want national initiatives to remain independent, while sharing legal knowledge, experience, practical tools and contacts across Europe.
This is not about replacing one centralized structure with another.
It is about helping people organise peacefully and lawfully in their own countries.
What your support will fund
Funds raised through this campaign will help cover:
- legal advice, legal analysis and legal fees, including work on referendum and constitutional procedures;
- travel and meetings with organisers, lawyers, experts and national initiatives in different countries;
- public events and outreach;
- printing, campaign materials and the eventual presentation of the signatures;
- translation of the Open Letter and other campaign materials;
- the DISBAND.EU website, signature-verification system, database, hosting and technical infrastructure;
- development and operation of the DISBAND community platform;
- online promotion and outreach across Europe;
- organisational and administrative costs required to run an international project.
We have set an initial fundraising goal of €5,000 per month.
This is our estimate of the minimum required to begin building the campaign seriously across several countries. If participation grows, national initiatives develop and the scope of the work expands, the amount required will grow with it.

A non-profit project
DISBAND.EU is a non-profit initiative.
The Czech association Milion chvilek pro republiku, z. s. is currently being established as the non-profit organization behind the project.
Funds raised for DISBAND.EU are earmarked for the activities and objectives of the project. Once the association is registered, project funding will be administered through the association.
The money raised is not intended as personal income. It is there to finance the work.
