Kidney Transplant

Dear Family, Friends, Churches, Businesses, Community Leaders, and Compassionate Supporters,

My name is Jocelyn Kelley, and I am reaching out today with faith, humility, and hope as I continue one of the most difficult journeys of my life.

In 2016, I was diagnosed with Lupus, an autoimmune disease for which there is currently no cure. That same year, after dedicating 20 years to my job, I was laid off. Over time, Lupus severely damaged my kidneys and eventually led to end stage renal disease.

For the past five years, dialysis has become a major part of my life. While it has helped keep me alive, it has also taken a tremendous toll on my body. My heart function has declined to 30% now, and the physical and emotional strain of ongoing treatments has become increasingly difficult.

Today, I am in desperate need of a kidney transplant.

Through every challenge, I continue to trust in the power of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. My faith remains strong, but I am also human. There are moments when fear, exhaustion, and uncertainty become overwhelming.

My financial situation has also become extremely difficult. I currently depend on disability income, which is not enough to cover all of my monthly expenses, medical needs, household bills, transportation, and other necessities.

In addition to managing my own health challenges, I also help care for my mother, who is also a dialysis patient and a 10 year heart transplant survivor. Our family understands firsthand the physical, emotional, and financial impact of serious illness and transplantation.

As I prepare and pray for the opportunity to receive a kidney transplant, one of my greatest concerns is being financially stable during my recovery. After transplant surgery, I want to be able to focus on healing without worrying about whether my rent is paid, whether I can make my car payment, or whether I will have a secure home to return to after leaving the hospital.

That is why I am humbly asking for your help.

Your donation will help provide support for expenses associated with my transplant journey, including:

  1. Medical and treatment related expenses
  2. Transportation to medical appointments and dialysis
  3. Prescription medications and post transplant needs
  4. Rent and household expenses
  5. Transportation and vehicle expenses
  6. Recovery related expenses and basic living necessities

Every donation matters.

Whether you are able to give $5, $10, $20, $25, $50, $100, $500, $1,000, or any amount God places on your heart, your generosity can help lighten this burden and allow me to concentrate on getting stronger and preparing for a healthier future.

You may donate through my GiveSendGo fundraiser:

If you choose not to reach me directly you can call UTMB Kidney Transplant in Galveston Donor Line (409)772-1451 or St. Luke Hospital Donor Line (832)355-5506 or you can apply by their website www.baylorstlukelivingdonor.org.

Even if you are unable to donate financially or become a donor, you can still help tremendously by sharing my story with your family, church, workplace, social network, and community.

Sometimes the person who can change a life is only one shared message away.

I am reminded of Galatians 6:2:

“Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”

I believe God can use people, prayers, resources, physicians, donors, and even one simple act of kindness to create a miracle.

Thank you for taking the time to hear my story. Thank you for every prayer, every donation, every share, every phone call, and every act of encouragement.

I am believing God for healing, provision, and the gift of another chance at life.

May God bless you abundantly for being willing to stand with me during this journey.

With faith, gratitude, and hope,

Jocelyn Kelley 🙏🏾💜
