My name is Yanesky Frank-Holland.
I am a writer, an advocate, and an animal rescuer, and I am asking for your help to turn one senseless tragedy into lasting federal law.
HeeHaw was a miniature donkey, bottle-raised from birth, gentle with children and strangers alike.
He had never shown aggression toward any living creature. Yet he was shot and killed in his own pasture by a law enforcement officer conducting a search, an officer who later claimed the little donkey posed a threat.
The body-worn camera footage of that night has never been released to the public. A federal civil rights lawsuit, *Israel v. Garner*, was filed on September 11, 2026, and the fight for answers continues in court.
But courts decide one case.
Congress can protect every family's animals. That is why I am campaigning for **HeeHaw's Law**, federal legislation requiring transparency and accountability when law enforcement uses lethal force against a companion animal, mandatory release of bodycam footage, independent review, and clear standards so that no family ever has to beg for the truth the way we have.
**Where your donation goes:**
Every dollar funds the advocacy campaign itself, travel to Washington, D.C. to meet with members of the House and Senate, organizing materials, and the day-to-day work of getting HeeHaw's Law introduced and passed. I will post public updates on our progress at every step.
HeeHaw's life was taken in minutes. With your help, his legacy can protect animals for generations.
Thank you for standing with us.
Humbly,
Yanesky.
