Help Bring Jose Home

🚨 URGENT: My father, has lived in the U.S. for almost 58 years. He came here legally from Havana to the United States under the Freedom Flights under Lyndon B Johnson with his mother, father and siblings. He was under a year old when he arrived. He is a son, husband, father, and grandfather who built his life and family here. The United States is all he has ever known.

Yesterday, ICE took him during raids in Brevard County. He vanished—his hot coffee was still in the cup holder, his truck keys left on the seat, and his 14-year-old daughter had just been dropped at school, not knowing her dad wouldn’t be there when she came home.

Yes, decades ago — in his youth — he made mistakes. He served his time. He rebuilt. For decades now, he has been a father, a grandfather, a business owner, and a man of faith who helps others with whatever he has. He is a kind, giving soul who has quietly built a life of purpose and love. In 2016, the court told him he could never legally be deported because he is —yet here we are. He was told by the Judge his paper deportation wouldn't be enforced and he would be placed in the OSOP Parole Program which he has successfully done for 9 years. Checks in with the courts every 6 months/year, gives them his work and address. My father has owned his own company, paid into the United States tax revenue as well as owns a car, house and paid child support. He thought he did everything the right way to the best of his abilities.

We are heartbroken, terrified, and desperate. My father has been here since infancy. He’s an American in every way that matters — except on paper.
