As family (by blood and choice) of the Hendersons, we are coming together to ask for your help as Jo takes on this fight with colon cancer.  

Collectively, through dance, friendships, school, sports, family gatherings, camping trips, trips to the beach and city… we have all watched Jo grow into the incredible young lady that she is.  She is simply AMAZING.  She takes on everything with her whole heart and charts her own course.  Marcia and Art have had the great fortune to not have to worry so much, because Jo always makes the right decision.  And the bond they share as a family is something to behold.  

This is a speed bump, and there might be more bumps ahead.  But we want Jo to be able to focus on beating this, while still deciding which college she wants to go to, and enjoying everything that a high school senior should be experiencing.  And we want Marcia and Art to be able to support and focus on Jo solely without any other burdens.  

This is a hard ask, because we know they don’t want charity.  They only want prayers.  But we can do better!  The financial strain of this is not anything that parents should have to think about while getting their child through this.  Medical bills and travel expenses are already racking up.  But they will stop at nothing!  Every option will be explored.  Biweekly trips to Boston will be required for the next six months.  There are also future aspects that might not be covered by insurance.  If it is in your heart to help, we have made this space available for any donations that you can offer.  Other ways to help are in the works, so please stay tuned. 

Above all else, we covet your prayers for Jo, Marcia and Art.  Please take their names into your heart, to your church, to your family and friends, to your workplace, to anyone who will lift them in prayer.  This is a battle of mind, body and spirit.  Let’s give them all the armor they need and then some.
