It's Our Turn: Help Tammy Beat Cancer
Tammy needs our help, and she needs it now.
What began as headaches that grew increasingly severe has turned into a life-changing battle against a rare and aggressive cancer known as NUT Carcinoma.
Tammy's journey has taken her from Alaska to one of the nation's leading cancer treatment centers, MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. She is scheduled to fly to Houston on October 31, seeking the specialized evaluation and treatment she urgently needs.
But there is an immediate financial obstacle.
Tammy needs approximately $25,000 just to begin the evaluation process at MD Anderson. That is before the potentially substantial costs of further treatment, transportation, lodging, and everyday living expenses during what may be an extended stay far from home.
We are setting our initial fundraising goal at $25,000 to address this first critical hurdle. This is not the full anticipated cost of her cancer care. As her medical team establishes the treatment plan and expenses become clearer, we may need to increase our goal.
Tammy is facing more than a medical diagnosis. She is facing the financial burden of pursuing specialized care thousands of miles from home, at a time when her energy and attention should be devoted to fighting this disease.
This is our opportunity to stand beside her.
