My sister and I are seniors We grew up on Long Island NY Two years ago we along with her son moved to Texas after her husband passed away to make a better life. We were doing good but then received a phone call that my brother Bill was very sick back on Long Island We rushed back and went to the hospital He had pneumonia and almost died While there they found that he had stage 4 cancer. The doctors believed he would make it. He had to go through chemo and asked us to move back into his home and help him. We did. We could not leave him We used all our savings to move back and paid some of his bills and bought food. My brother said he would write a will just in case leaving us half the house and the other half to his son. A couple months later my brother died. His son said we could stay til after the probate. Since my brother never wrote the will the house went into probate and then would go to his son. Before the probate finished his son gave us 3 days to get out of the house. We became homeless having used all our savings to help my brother. So now we are living in two cars. My sister and her son in one and myself with my 4 pups in my car. We have been homeless since June. I and my sister both work but things keep happening and we can not get enough money to find a place to live. All 3 of us have chronic illnesses. I have a heart condition that scares me because of all the stress of living in the car I am afraid of another heart attack. It is scary. At our ages we shouldn’t have to live without a roof over our heads. Please help us feel safe again. Help us be in a home with my pups. Your kindness means everything to us. No donation is too small.
