Help Kurt "Moto" Jensen/Huge tree fell on him/home

Hello everybody, John Henson here. All of his Georgia softball friends know him as Moto, but to me hes my longtime friend Kurt. I dont usually do this kind of thing but his family is in a bad spot and I want to organize this campaign on behalf of him AND his family, so I'll be receiving the donations into my account and transferring them directly to Kurt(Moto) to assist with immediate living and recovery (and medical) expenses as now that he's past the initial adrenaline rush for a few days, he's now dealing with the PTSD and severe insomnia caused by the massive shock of waking up stuck under that huge oak tree in the pictures that should have killed him.

For over 10 years Kurt and Lenore (she's Lenny to me)let me live with them in the Marietta house they were renting & I lived in their basement suite and they kept a roof over my head when I needed it. They never asked for anything back and Now its my turn to speak up for them.

Saturday morning October 17th, around 9 AM a huge 15 plus TON red oak, about 75 feet tall, came down on their home and split it in half, trapping Kurt underneath. Lenore was not in the bed when tree fell and if she had been, she would not be here today. (And thank God the propane tank the tree hit (in the pictures) on the other side of their bedroom wall didnt explode!) 😲

Please let that sink in.

Gabriel and Krystian were home too (Finn was not, so that's good) and thank God they werent hit by the tree, but all of them are shaken up bad & are dealing with the asbestos they had to walk thru & breathe to get out of their destroyed house.

In the photos, "K" marks where the tree hit him while he was in bed (yes that's what's left of their bedroom) and "L" marks where Lenore would have been, had God not had her safely in their living room when that huge tree fell &shook the ground so hard, his neighbors said they were sure it was an earthquake and when they ran over to the house, they all were bracing for the worst.

God had different plans though 🙏

Their house is nowhere near safe to enter. Everything inside was exposed to asbestos contamination from the collapse and Their renters insurance had lapsed so theres nothing to cover it. (Their landlords policy covers the house but not their belongings) its actually less expensive (but still going to be a LOT) to throw almost everything out and replace it, than to decontaminate it, so they have to start over. All of their clothes, furniture, appliances, electronics, literally almost everything they own that wasn't already crushed. Only the special things like family photos and keepsakes will be professionally decontaminated.

Their daughter Rose (& her husband Dom) were able to take them in for a week in their home (an extra 4 family members.and 4 cats Rose/Dom are VERY allergic to), and they're now at temporary housing that costs just over $200 a night and they still need to find a new home. Before the accident Kurt (Moto) also had two surgerys scheduled to replace his hip and knee, one on Nov 18 and one on Dec 23 (Thank God his health insurance has already covered those), and now Hes still recovering, physically and mentally from that terrifying morning.

Our goal is $100,000. That covers:

Temporary housing costs, and living expenses until they get settled in new rental home ($8-10k)

Deposit and first& last month rent in a new home that they've got friends/ family helping them find ASAP to stop the "bleeding" of the expensive temp housing.(appx $8-10k)

Replacing all of their furniture , electronics, clothing and ALL of their personal belongings, basically everything Kurt, Lenore & their 3 kids had. ($30k est.)

Professional cleaning of any keepsakes/ valuables that possibly can be saved ($10k or more)

Medical costs from 2 Emergency Room visits and future medical costs including psychiatric ($25k estimate)

Lost income during recovery and displacement ($20k or more)

Anything you can give helps and if you cant give, sharing this does just as much. This family helped me for over 10 years and I would do anything for them. Not to mention all the support some of you have been involved with that Kurt (Moto) has volunteered for our military veterans, that I've seen him do for almost 20 years.

Please help me take care of them now.

And PLEASE, even if you cant donate, post this to any social media you have to help me help this family that's still in shock over what happened 😢.

Praying enough 🙏 of his friends and family see this and can help spread the word about their situation, which to me I just cant imagine.

Thank you for considering helping this family thats been through such a terrible experience.

Of course, 100% of what's raised is being handed over directly to Kurt (Moto) & Lenore to help them pick up the pieces and start over from scratch.

-John
