Help with major repairs for my vehicle

My transmission and front end need repairs and I'm on a very limited fixed income from disability. My husband used to be able to diy most repairs but unfortunately he passed away in November 2025 so I'm having to learn how to do things myself and the garage gave me a bill for 6000. Please help me, I really need my car running so I can get to my doctor's appointments. Any help for this veteran's widow would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
