A mother is gone. Her children deserve answers.
Our family has spent more than a year fighting to understand what happened to Elizabeth Nadia Faske.
Elizabeth's death was ultimately ruled natural, but questions surrounding the circumstances of her death have never gone away. Our family has continued seeking records, evidence, independent medical opinions, and answers.
Now that fight has entered the courtroom.
A civil lawsuit has been filed so that we can use the legal process to seek evidence, obtain discovery, and pursue accountability where the evidence leads.
But getting to the truth is expensive.
Service of legal documents alone can cost approximately $175 per person, and multiple defendants and witnesses may need to be served throughout this case. We are also preparing for attorney fees, subpoenas, depositions, transcripts, expert witnesses and medical reviews, forensic examinations, records, court costs, and other litigation expenses.
For that reason, we have set a fundraising goal of $50,000.
We are not asking the public to decide what happened to Elizabeth. We are asking for help giving her children the opportunity to have those questions answered through the proper legal process.
Because this case is now before the court, there are details and evidence that we will not publicly disclose. Protecting the integrity of the case is more important than telling everything we know on social media.
Elizabeth was 36 years old. She was a mother. She mattered. And her children deserve answers.
Funds raised will be used toward attorney fees, court costs, service of process, discovery, depositions, expert and forensic expenses, records, and other expenses associated with pursuing this case. If funds remain after those obligations have been satisfied, our intention is for the remaining funds to benefit Elizabeth's children, subject to any applicable legal and fundraising requirements.
