At We Elevate Foundation, we believe that menstrual care is a fundamental human right, not a privilege. However, young girls and women in Nigeria today face a growing, silent crisis: the proliferation of unsafe, counterfeit, and fake imitation sanitary pads in the market. Unsuspecting girls using these poor-quality, dangerous products are exposed to serious health risks, infections, and severe discomfort.
Combined with severe period poverty, millions of young girls face an unfair choice between dangerous alternatives or missing up to 20% of their school year, falling behind in their studies and, in many cases, dropping out entirely.
We embarked on the Period Dignity Project to respond directly to this urgent concern. We are taking a firm stand to ensure that girls in our communities do not just receive period products, but receive authentic, safe, reliable, and high-quality menstrual care they can trust.
What Your Support Achieves
We are targeting our first cohort of 100 to 200 young schoolgirls. Every donation goes directly toward providing tangible, immediate relief alongside long-term empowerment:
- Safe & Authentic Period Care: Supplying girls with verified, authentic, and high-quality menstrual hygiene products designed to protect their health and dignity.
- Health & Menstrual Education: Conducting interactive workshops on hygiene, biological awareness, identifying authentic period products, and breaking toxic cultural stigmas.
