Over the past 18 months, I've travelled across Canada, the United Kingdom and the GREAT USA , documenting addiction, homelessness and how government policies have shifted from addiction treatment toward harm reduction.
No corporate backing. No wealthy sponsors. Just one person with a camera, a microphone and the determination to give ordinary people a voice.
First, I want to thank everyone who has supported my work. Your subscriptions, comments, shares and occasional donations have meant more than you know.
Sometimes those donations mean an extra dessert after a long day. Other times, they mean a more comfortable pair of shoes after walking hundreds of kilometres documenting life on our streets. Every contribution genuinely makes a difference.
Now I've been given an incredible opportunity.
Thanks to the generosity of a kind individual, my ticket to the Independent Journalism Gala at Mar-a-Lago has been covered.
But I need help getting there.
I'm hoping to raise $2,400 CAD for flights, accommodation and transportation over four days.
This is more than an invitation to a gala. It's an opportunity to connect with established independent journalists, build meaningful relationships and open doors that could take my reporting to an entirely new level.
I live on a very limited income. I don't own a home or even a car, and I've funded most of this journey myself.
