Help Save Chloe, Luna & Molly: Emergency Veterinary Care
If you know me personally, you know my three dogs, Chloe, Luna, and Molly, are my entire world. They aren’t simply pets. They are my children, my family, and one of the biggest blessings in my life.
Today, our lives took a terrifying turn.
This morning, I woke up with terrible cramps. My husband brought me breakfast and left a bottle of Advil on our dining room table. I was rushing to get to work, never took the medication, and we both forgot to put the bottle away.
While we were gone, Chloe, our mischievous little gray schnauzer who is always looking for something to eat, managed to climb onto the dining room table.
When I came home from work, I found the Advil bottle completely torn apart.
I immediately checked our home security cameras. My heart sank as I watched Chloe get into the bottle and ingest some of the pills, leaving the bottle open and accessible to our other two dogs, who appear to have gotten into the medication as well.
We have no way of knowing exactly how many pills each of them swallowed.
I immediately called our veterinarian, who instructed me to rush all three dogs to the emergency animal hospital.
Once we arrived, the medical team explained how serious the situation was. Even a small number of Advil pills can cause life-threatening poisoning in dogs. They explained the risks of severe stomach ulcers, internal bleeding, and kidney failure. What makes this even more frightening is the possibility of kidney damage not becoming apparent until days after ingestion.
We were told treatment needed to begin immediately. Time is critical.
And then came another devastating reality.
The estimated cost of emergency veterinary treatment for all three of my babies is $21,000.
I don’t have $21,000.
For those who don’t know my story, my husband and I have not yet had the blessing of having children. But God has blessed us with these three little lives, and I cannot begin to explain how much they mean to us.
They are our kids.
I take them to the park twice a day. They have their own beds, their own routines, and so much love surrounding them. Our home revolves around them. Anyone who has visited our house knows how much of a priority they are in our lives.
I love them more than words will ever express.
I’ve never done anything like this before. I’ve never created a fundraiser asking people for financial help. Even recording the video I shared was incredibly difficult and vulnerable for me.
But when it comes to my babies, I am willing to do everything within my reach to give them a fighting chance.
I wish I had the money to take care of this without asking anyone for help. I wish I weren’t in this position. But the reality is, their lives are at risk, treatment is urgent, and I need help.
I’m creating this fundraiser with a goal of raising $21,000 to help cover the emergency veterinary bills, treatment, hospitalization, and monitoring needed for Chloe, Luna, and Molly.
If you feel led to donate, no matter the amount, please know how deeply grateful my husband and I will be.
And if you’re unable to contribute financially, please consider sharing this fundraiser and keeping our three girls in your prayers.
I am praying with everything in me for the opportunity to bring all three of my babies back home, healthy and safe.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story, for caring, and for helping us fight for Chloe, Luna, and Molly.
With all my heart,
Katherine ❤️🐾
