Help Sarah Through Cancer Treatment and Recovery

My grandmother Sarah was diagnosed unexpectedly with Serous Uterine Carcinoma, a rare and aggressive form of uterine cancer. She underwent an urgent complete hysterectomy on 9/18/2026. The cancer had spread to her cervix, abdominal wall, and several lymph nodes.

After being released from the hospital on day 2 of post-op, she was healing relatively well, until the next morning. She woke up feeling lightheaded and slurring her words. She was taken to the ER via ambulance and was found to have two large pulmonary embolisms, one in each lung. She was transported immediately to St Francis South where she underwent emergency surgery to remove the clots.

She has now been discharged home from the PT rehab facility as of 10/20 and will soon begin medications/treatments to slow the progression of the cancer.
